Welcome to Redlegs Chapter of the 4th Infantry Division Association
A Battery 4/42 FA just finished up another great reunion in Nashville, TN with twelve Vietnam Veterans and family. We stayed at Gaylord/Marriott Inn at Opryland. We spent the first day sharing memories, photos and movies (1968 - 70) in the conference room provided by Marriott. The first night we went to the Nashville Dinner Theater and enjoyed local country music entertainers. Day two we arranged for a four hour guided shuttle tour of downtown Nashville. We were very fortunate to have one of the entertainers from the dinner theater as our tour guide (Brenda Best). Later in the day we headed over to to the Grand Ole Opry (100th Anniversary show) enjoyed an evening of country music. Day three breakfast and time to head out. Looking forward to another A Battery reunion next year.

Lt. Burtchaell asked Howard to draw the firing chart for Ruth before we left Joyce. This is the result of my efforts. I have no idea if it was right. If you notice the split toward the right side, this reflects where the rectangular lines of the eastern hemisphere and western hemisphere maps meet on a round planet. One would have thought after an almost a decade of military effort in Vietnam, someone in the Army might have thought it a good idea to mention it at FDC training at Ft. Sill.

Perimeter bunker. I think this was the only one that our battery was responsible for manning at night. A swarm of bees/hornets/whatever was making a nest and making things rather unpleasant. Joe Spigarelli created a makeshift beekeeper outfit and was spreading gasoline to dissuade them.

Generators, and FDC at Joyce, July 1969.

Convoyed both Joyce to Ruth, and Ruth to Plei Mrong. The guns and conex definitely flew at least one of those. If you look at the conex helicopter, that is definitely incoming. If you look at the convoy to Ruth, there is no sign of guns behind the trucks.
